Research context

By the 2024 field season, this experiment had been running for 20 years. Its long-term record helps reveal ecological responses that short studies may miss as it examines tundra plant-community responses to summer warming associated with climate change.

My contribution

During fieldwork at Daring Lake in August 2024, I supported the experimental setup and harvested plant biomass. As a research assistant, I also sorted tundra plants and mosses by species. I contributed careful field and laboratory work to the broader experiment; I did not design or lead the long-term study.

Research perspective

This experience reinforced the value of consistent protocols, precise species identification, long-term ecological records, and collaborative research.
